Throughout its rich history, community engagement and public service has been a part of the fabric of The Westminster Schools. Public service was recently highlighted in the five year strategic plan as a way to meet our mission "to develp the whole person for college and for life." Service in all its forms offers us knowledge about the world and helps us recognize and celebrate our interdependence.
As stated by Martin Luther King, Jr. "an individual has not started living until he can rise about the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity." Westminster strives to help children in the journey toward maturity marked by personal excellence, self-knowledge, responsible citizenship, and faith in God.
"If Westminster students can go forward, infused with the spirit of what it means to 'give back' and with what it means to exert leadership through service, and endowed with a genuine understanding of others who may be very different and with very different needs, we will have contributed to the education of those who will make a better world for all of God's children."
